GMAIL INTRODUCES NAME TAGGING FEATURE
Google has recently introduced a new feature in Gmail called name tagging feature but before introducing it has rebuilt and redesigned the feature as well but was rolled out before the IO conference 2018 was scheduled. The feature as mentioned by Android police apparently came with the huge redesign ahead of IO 2018 developer’s conference.
WHAT IS THIS NAME TAGGING FEATURE AND HOW IT IS OPERATED?
This name tagging feature is not complicated and you can operate it with ease.
With this feature, a user can tag a person inside the email body by texting @name or +name for Google+. After typing @name it will show a drop-down of recommended contacts inside the email body. Select them to add it to your recipient list. Their names will be highlighted in your email body.
It is so easy and simple and saves your time in going back to email recipient section and typing the name or email ID. But this feature can only be used in web interface right now.
SOME OTHER NEW CHANGES FOR GMAIL USERS IN 2018
It is a new feature to keep your email’s protected and safe in Gmail. When you send a message in confidential mode, you can set an expiration date or cancel a sent email. This confidential mode also blocks an email from being forward or being downloaded or printed by anyone else. Another great thing about this confidential mode is setting authentication. To access this confidential mode, users of free Gmail services have to opt for new Gmail and then go to settings in the top right corner and select the “Try the new Gmail”.
When a user receives a lot of emails a day he might forget to reply some of the important emails or might think that he replied but actually he didn’t. This nudging reminder will remind us to respond to these important emails which we forgot to reply and then automatically put them on the top of your inbox to remind you of it. This will do the same for follow up emails.
This feature is already there for Gmail on mobile and now it will be available on the web soon. Basically, this feature scans the incoming email and uses machine learning to provide quick responses that you can add to the body of the email by just clicking on them rather than typing them depending on the type of email you are looking at.
This is an experimental feature which is going to be rolled out soon. This feature uses artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to provide autocomplete suggestions which helps you to write emails faster. It even provides suggestions for relevant contextual phrases.
